ELECTIVES FOR FALL 2026

Session 1:

Tuesdays beginning September 15-October 6.


This is a 4-week session. Elective days will be September 15, September 22, September 29 and October 6. 


The price covers the entire elective - It is a one-time payment per elective.

Elective Descriptions:

Collaging / Junk Journaling (Scrapbooking):

Collaging is a great way to experiment with different textures and materials, and junk journaling incorporates that creative flow with mindfulness in daily living. Combining art with writing, it is proven to improve mental health and encourage focus throughout the day... not to mention it's just downright fun!! Supplies are included, but students will be encouraged to bring their own "junk" they find throughout the week. (Stickers, newspaper scraps, event tickets, etc.) We were made in the image of our Creator... so let's create!! 


Sewing:

Grades 3-12. Basic sewing skills like stitch types, buttons, and hems. Pin cushions, pins, thread, fabric, etc. They will need to provide their own regular-sized sewing scissors.


Elementary PE:

Grades 3-6. Combining exercise and fun to build a foundation for a strong mind & body! We will cover a variety of sports, aerobic activities, and other fun games. Please wear athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle.


Middle/High PE:

Grades 7-12. Combining exercise and fun to build a foundation for a strong mind & body! We will cover a variety of sports, aerobic activities and other fun games. Please wear athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle.


Baking:

Grades 3-6. Let’s make something delicious! We will be learning baking basics and skills…and creating mouthwatering baked goodies!


Cookie Decorating:

Grades 3-6. Four weeks of learning how to decorate cookies using Royal icing on sugar cookies. Using different techniques and different themes, your child will have fun learning a new skill.


Horticulture:

Grades 3-12. Four weeks of learning about soil, plants, gardening, and lots of interesting experiments.

Wk 1 - Soil and soil layers, components of a plant, seed experiment.

Wk 2 - Plant new seeds, fertilizer, rain gauge experiment, learn about cuttings and propagating.

Wk 3 - Landslide experiment, celery color change, differences in seasonal plants.

Wk 4 - Crush plant leaf experiment, leaf rubbings, progression of seeds, how to care for plants.


Study Hall:

Grades 3-12.  Study Hall is a structured, quiet period for students in grades 3 through 12 to complete homework, study, read, or work on long-term assignments. Students are expected to use the time productively and work independently while maintaining a respectful and focused environment. The instructor will provide oversight and may offer guidance with organization, study habits, and assignment clarification. The goal of Study Hall is to help students build responsibility, time-management skills, and strong academic routines while staying on track with their coursework.


STEM:

Grades 7-12. A fun, hands-on STEM class where students build, test, and discover! Students will work in teams as well as on individual projects while learning science through experiments, challenges, and creative problem-solving. This class is perfect for curious kids who love to build and explore.


Board Games & Fun:

Grades 3-6. This is a relaxed, engaging class where students can enjoy a variety of classic and new board games with friends! Along the way, they’ll practice teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship—all while having fun!


Interactive Play:

Grades K-2. Each week, children will participate in a variety of activities, including crafts, music sessions, indoor playtime, gym, playground, and other engaging activities.

We will also prioritize social time through open play and a shared snack. Snack will be during the 10:00-10:50 am time slot. Parents need to send a water bottle and snack weekly for this time slot.

Not all Interactive Play time slots will participate in all activities each elective day. If you want your child to attend all three slots (9-12), then you will have to sign him/her up for each of the three slots. $15 per time slot for a maximum of $45. (This includes 3 hours each Tuesday for four weeks, but you must sign up for all three time slots by emailing the office).

11:00-11:50am:

  • Sewing (7th-12th)

  • Interactive Play (K-2)
